At-Home Date nights (or days) is THE best. Especially now during quarantine. You miss going out to eat. Dropping baby(ies) off with their grandparents. Missing quality time and date night with your partner? I get it. So, tell me why you’re not able to again? Ha! This is THE time to get creative (and save money while doing it).
A few weekends ago my husband and I celebrated our second year anniversary and after having such an amazing time, I figured I would share some of my at-home date ideas with you all.
First thing’s first, MAKE THE TIME. The first part of our date was done during Ryann’s nap time. And then we waited for her bedtime to do the second part. Moral of the story: It does not HAVE to be date NIGHT. Try a DD: Date Day! Do it during the day… whenever you have time. Anywho, let’s jump right on in.
AT-HOME date ideas:
- Wine Tasting: Grab a few bottles of wine, fruit, cheese, chocolate, and make score cards. (Or print out a template online) Try out wines neither of you had before or simply get your favorites and rate them.
- Spa Day: Turn your home into a spa and take turns giving each other facials and/or massages. I ordered robes from Amazon to make it even cuter! (And because I’m extra, ha!)
- Movie Night: Stock up on some of your favorite movie snacks and spend some time watching movies. If you’re feeling really creative, play the movie on an overhead projector instead of the TV. And, if it’s a nice day/night, watch it outside in your backyard or on the balcony!
- Couple Cook Off: Whether you both make the same thing or you make different meals, make it a fun competition! Obviously bring some wine to the party (if that’s what you’re into).
- Karaoke: I found this cool karaoke machine for under $70 that I might order BUT you don’t even NEED a machine. As long as you have access Youtube, you are all set. Plug in your laptop to your TV and get your sing on. Make it challenging by choosing the song that your partner has to sing. (And vice versa)
- Paint and Sip: Get a pack of canvas boards, mini easels, paint, brushes, and wine of course! Our paint and sip night was on our balcony with candles, it was super romantic!
- Picnic: Do you have a backyard? Balcony? Or simply space in the living room? Once your kid(dies) go to sleep, use a sheet, snacks, wine, and whatever else you’re into, and have a picnic. (While the babies nap or when they go to sleep at night)
So, there’s 7 for now. I’ll probably come back and add more eventually. But until then, get creative and continue to date! Don’t let social distancing distance you from your love… I mean there’s only but so far you can go to get away from them anyway. Ha!
