For as long as I can remember, I’ve always said I would not have a big 1st birthday party for my children. Not because “they’ll never remember it” but simply because I personally did not like the idea of having one. Traveling was always something I wanted to do for their first few birthdays. But, since we went to Europe for 2 weeks exactly one month before her birthday, I decided we can wait to take another trip. However, a cake smash photoshoot and a family outing was right up my alley.
Of course, I waited last minute to find a photographer and when I did, I had no idea how much Cake Smash photoshoots were. Everyone I contacted wanted $450 or more and that price didn’t include an outfit. Now, don’t get me wrong, I’m all for paying businesswomen and men for their work butttt, I also knew I could do it myself for the low. Lol! And so, I found someone to make a cake exactly how I wanted it (I don’t bake so I wasn’t doing that lol), went to Target and Dollar Tree for decorations. I was able to get all of the decorations, Ryann’s outfit, AND buy the cake for less than $115!
